Observing National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On September 30, Kamloops Airport will join Canadians across the country to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a Canada-wide commitment to reconciliation and ensuring that the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools is never forgotten.

We stand with our neighbours and friends at the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) Nation.  Our airport is located on the traditional lands of the TteS Nation, and we have worked together on airport and community projects over the past several decades. Across the country, local First Nations are critical community stakeholders at Canadian airports.

The TteS Nation has shared the following video to help people learn the Secwépemc Honour Song and join online to drum and sing at 2:15 p.m. Pacific on September 30. Read more about this story here on CBC.
