2023 Q4 Passenger Statistics

Kamloops Airport announces the 2023 Q4 and Year-End passenger statistics, as compared to the same period from the previous year.

October24, 83525, 971+4.6

December26, 06830, 841+18.3

The increases experienced in Q4 can be attributed largely to the introduction of new air services to Victoria and Vancouver by Pacific Coastal Airlines and WestJet Link, along with the reintroduction of the early morning departure to Vancouver with Air Canada. Following the service reductions in Q2 and fire-related travel restrictions in Q3, Q4 saw a strong return of travelers who are taking advantage of the convenient connections beyond Vancouver and Calgary for both business and leisure travel. We are also excited to announce that Pacific Coastal Airlines is increasing their popular non-stop service to Victoria to daily to include services on Saturday starting in February.

Although challenges stemming from the pandemic remain for the aviation sector, Kamloops Airport served 91.9% of our 2019 Q4 pre-pandemic traffic. We are optimistic the growth trend will continue toward a full recovery through 2024 as we work with our stakeholders in the airline, tourism, and business sectors to amplify Kamloops as destination for both tourism and commerce.
