2025 Q2 Passenger Statistics
July 17, 2025
Kamloops Airport announces traveler numbers for Q2 2025, compared to the same period from the previous year.
2024 2025 Change
Q2 Travelers 73,721 65,971 – 10.5%
April 26,074 21,168 – 18.8%
May 24,174 22,098 – 8.6%
June 23,473 22,705 – 3.3%
The decrease observed in Q2 is primarily due to reduced flight frequencies to both Calgary and Vancouver. While pre-pandemic service levels between Calgary and Kamloops resumed in May, flights to Vancouver continue to operate at a reduced frequency. Furthermore, ongoing geopolitical factors have impacted transborder travel, further contributing to the overall decline.
We are encouraged by WestJet’s recent announcement of a new nonstop route to Edmonton, operating twice weekly. As always, Kamloops Airport remains committed to working with all airline partners and communities to enhance the travel experience for both residents and visitors. Kamloops Airport Ltd. (KAL) is a proud member of the Vantage Group.
