KAMLOOPS, BC — Kamloops Airport (YKA) is proud to announce the launch of its new community-driven initiative, the YKA Drop Zone, a refundable recycling program that empowers local charitable organizations, youth sports teams, and non-profits through the simple act of recycling.

The program offers approved organizations the opportunity to collect returnable containers from the airport and keep 100% of the refund proceeds to support their initiatives. It’s a win-win for the community and the environment.

How It Works:
• Secure collection bins are stationed throughout the airport.
• On a regular basis, organizations pick up the refundables and return them to a local bottle depot.
• All refund proceeds go directly to the group, supporting causes that matter in our region.

Non-profits, school teams, and other local organizations are encouraged to apply by emailing operations@kamloopsairport.com. Pick-up times are assigned based on availability and alignment with YKA’s program goals.

“The YKA Drop Zone builds on Kamloops Airport’s broader sustainability strategy and reflects our core values of environmental stewardship and community impact,” said Jim Moroz, Managing Director, Kamloops Airport. “By reducing landfill waste and reinvesting the value of recyclables into local initiatives, YKA continues to lead by example in regional airport stewardship.”
