The YKA Drop Zone is a refundable bottle and can recycling initiative where local charitable organizations and youth sports teams sign up to collect returnable containers. After the collection period, the approved group picks up the collected recyclables and keeps 100% of the bottle deposit refunds to support their cause or team.

How It Works

Refundable items at the Kamloops Airport are placed in dedicated recycling bins and collected until the scheduled pick up day. The pre-selected organization picks up the items on their assigned day, returns them to a bottle depot, and keeps 100% of the refund proceeds to support their group.

How Do I Involve my Organization?

To be eligible, organizations must be a youth sports group, registered charity, or non-profit. Once approved, Kamloops Airport will assign a specific date based on availability.

Participant selection is at the discretion of Kamloops Airport Ltd. (KAL), and KAL reserves the right to decline any application.
